Northeast Paving teams in southern coastal Maine have begun work on a 5-mile resurfacing project on Route-1 in Bath, ME. The $16.9 million contract is one of the largest paving contracts let by the MDOT in 2019. Final quantities include 305,000 square yards of milling, 55,000 tons of asphalt, 3,200 linear feet of barrier wall installation, and 30 acres of clearing. Adding to the challenge, all work must be done at night. The project is scheduled for completion in summer of 2020.
